OHNY Weekend: Friday Guide
NEW YORK IS OPEN!
Right at the stroke of midnight, OHNY Weekend will start—not with a bang, but with a subterranean hum, as a group of intrepid infrastructure superfans join the Department of Environmental Protection’s Leak Prevention Team to listen to the water mains beneath the city’s streets.
Later, with the sun in the sky, thousands of New Yorkers will get ready to take part in 340+ experiences across the five boroughs. No tickets? No problem! More than 150 of the places participating in this year’s festival are free and open on a drop-in basis, no reservations required.
Friday is the perfect day to play hooky and make some spontaneous visits to the many fascinating sites offering drop-in hours. We’ve curated a list of Friday-only locations below, as well as a selection of under-the-radar gems open on Saturday and Sunday that are less likely to have lines for entry, to help you plan ahead.
And as always, don’t forget to check out our updates page before heading out.
Happy exploring!
