How do I get Tickets?
Many festival locations are Drop-In—you can just show up during open hours. These include perennial favorites like Brooklyn Army Terminal, Brooklyn Navy Yard, the Manhattan Borough President’s Map Display, and Sunset Park Material Recovery Facility.
Some sites are ticketed for capacity or security reasons, and access is limited to ticket holders only. Tickets will be released on Friday, October 3, at 12pm ET and can be claimed on Eventbrite. Securing OHNY Weekend tickets can be a frustrating process. Demand overwhelms supply, and competition is fierce.
Accessibility
Accessibility information for each site is included in its listing, including whether a site is wheelchair accessible, whether children are welcome, and what accessibility services are available. FAQs
Are children welcome at OHNY Weekend sites?
Most OHNY Weekend sites are open to visitors of all ages. Some sites offer special activities aimed at children and their families, and these are designated as Family-Friendly sites. However, certain locations have age minimums for safety reasons. Where this is the case, it is noted in the site’s listing under the “Access Notes” section (it’s always the last item listed).
Please note that at locations that require tickets, every person attending, including children, must have a ticket to attend.
Is photography or recording permitted at OHNY Weekend sites?
At most sites, yes! A few sites have restrictions on photography once inside. This is noted in the “Access Notes” section of each site’s Weekend listing. Please check with site staff if you are unsure of the photography rules or plan to record for any purpose other than personal use.
What happens in inclement weather?
OHNY Weekend takes place rain or shine. In the event that the Partner leading an outdoor tour or event decides to cancel due to weather conditions (or for any other reason), OHNY will post a notice on our website and notify ticketholders if applicable.
Where can I see the list of sites and tours for this year?
The full list of destinations and tours for the 2025 Open House New York Weekend–with dates, times, and descriptions–will be available on the Plan Your Weekend page of our website starting on September 26 (earlier on September 19 for Members). You can just show up at many sites in the festival during open hours.
How do I use My Itinerary?
With so many destinations to explore, My Itinerary helps you keep track of your OHNY Weekend wishlist. Click “Add to My Itinerary” on any festival site page to save it to your personal list. You can return to your itinerary anytime. Enter your email when prompted or click “Create an Itinerary” at the top of the page to receive the link to it (no password required).
On a desktop computer, you can rearrange the order, and remove sites from your list. Each itinerary comes with a unique URL to share with friends, family, and fellow explorers to plan your weekend together. Please note: adding a ticketed site to your itinerary does not mean you have booked a ticket. Ticketing opens on Friday, October 3, at 12pm.
Do I need to be an OHNY member to participate in OHNY Weekend?
No. OHNY Weekend is free and open to the general public – you do not need a membership to participate. OHNY Members help support all of our programs, including the festival, and receive a number of year-round benefits, like complimentary or discounted tickets to public programs and invitations to members-only events.
Ticket FAQs
Do I need tickets for OHNY Weekend?
Some locations are ticketed for capacity or security reasons, and access is provided at specific times for a limited number of visitors. Ticketing opens on October 3 at 12pm ET and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Securing OHNY Weekend tickets can be a competitive and frustrating process, as demand overwhelms supply, and tickets tend to get snapped up quickly.
When and where can I get tickets?
Ticketing is first come, first served on Eventbrite. There is no lottery and tickets cannot be purchased via email or over the phone. We know securing OHNY Weekend tickets can be a competitive and frustrating process. More than 8,000 tickets were available in 2024, and 80% got snapped up in minutes.
How much are tickets, and how many can I purchase?
The ticket fee is $7 for most sites (select sites are free). Up to two tickets can be purchased at a time. Everyone, including children, needs tickets, but not all locations allow children. And while children are allowed at some locations, they may have age restrictions. Look under “Access Notes” on the listing for age restrictions (always listed at the end).
Is there a waitlist for Ticketed tours? Do you take walk-ins?
No. There are no waitlists, and walk-ins are not accepted. For many of our Ticketed sites, this is a space or security issue. Admission is for ticketholders only.
What if I don’t get any Tickets?
More than 1,000 hours of free programming is available at Drop-In sites. Most festival locations, including perennial favorites like Powerhouse Arts, the Manhattan Borough President’s Map Display, and Sunset Park Material Recovery Facility, invite visitors to drop in without tickets during open hours. Most festival visitors embrace spontaneity, endure the occasional line, and explore the city by visiting festival destinations where they can just show up.
