Neighborhood Spotlight: Sunset Park

Sunset Park

Explore Sunset Park during OHNY Weekend, where historic industrial hubs along the Brooklyn waterfront now thrive with makers, artists, manufacturers, and innovators keeping New York’s “maker” spirit alive.

Series Description

If you think that nobody makes anything in New York City any more, hustle on over to Sunset Park during OHNY Weekend and let the thriving community of makers, manufacturers, artists, and innovators hard at work along the Brooklyn waterfront prove otherwise. Home to a cluster of colossal early 20th-century industrial hubs, this neighborhood is living proof that, while we can’t always make things like we used to, we can still make them where we used to. At the same time, Sunset Park’s cavernous spaces also support creative and unexpected new uses alongside workshops and studios. There’s truly something new to discover around every corner.

Visit Sunset Park during OHNY Weekend to see one of Brooklyn’s most dynamic hubs of activity in action at more than a dozen different sites. Make your trip even more enjoyable by taking NYC Ferry to Brooklyn Army Terminal!
