10:00am — 4:00pm

WindScape Brooklyn introduces the public of all ages to the wonder of offshore wind in an interactive and immersive experience. Located along Sunset Park's working waterfront, visitors will be provided with an unprecedented birds-eye view of one of the largest offshore wind hubs in the US, the 73-acre South Brooklyn Marine Terminal.

Visitors will able to explore the following exhibits:

  • "Meet the Wind" explores what wind is and how it is measured. What is special about wind off the coast of New York and how is it playing a role as a future source of energy?
  • "Gentle Giants" answers the question: Why are offshore wind turbine components so big, and how are environmental impacts mitigated?
  • "Powering the Grid" shows how power from offshore wind farms is distributed to homes and businesses.
  • "Surveying the Sea" dives beneath the surface into the world of observing and analyzing ocean environments for offshore wind farms. How do marine surveys contribute to the goal of building offshore wind projects in a responsible manner?
  • "A New Infrastructure" considers the role of offshore wind in furthering State, City, and community goals for climate, sustainability, and environmental justice.
  • "Tools of the Trade" invites visitors to discover the opportunities in offshore wind and related fields, and the technology used to bring these projects to life.

Saturday Tours: 11am and 12pm

Center staff will lead guided tours of the exhibition on a first-come, first-served basis, for up to 30 people at a time.
