Experience the only Romaniote synagogue in the Western Hemisphere, reflecting the unique customs and traditions of the Jews of Greece dating back more than 2,300 years. This landmarked synagogue, built in 1927, has been carefully restored to near-original conditions. Today, it is one of only a few surviving tenement-style synagogues left in Manhattan. Learn more about the Romaniote and Sephardic Jewish immigrant history of the Lower East Side, in contrast to the more common Ashkenazi community.

Sunday Tours: Ongoing 12-4 pm

Community members will be on site to give first-come, first-served tours.

The building tour includes walking up and down 1-2 flights of stairs.
