The award-winning design of the Cornell Tech campus is as innovative as the visionary thinkers who inhabit it. Take a tour of the two central buildings of the Cornell Tech campus, the Emma and Georgina Bloomberg Center and the Tata Innovation Center, and learn about sustainability features, campus programs, and notable architectural details.
The LEED Platinum-certified Bloomberg Center, dedicated in 2017, is the home base and intellectual nerve center of campus. From modern classrooms to open work areas to The Café, the building hums with connectivity between students, faculty, and the Cornell Tech community. Designed by Thom Mayne, it is a 160,000-sq. ft. hub for research and teaching with open meeting spaces for both students and faculty. Art is an integral part of the design, with site-specific commissions by Michael Riedel and Matthew Ritchie and restored WPA-era murals from the Goldwater Memorial Hospital that previously occupied the site.
The Tata Innovation Center, designed by Weiss/Manfredi, is home to academic teams from across Cornell conducting groundbreaking research in modern labs as well as to alumni and postdoc startup teams working to launch new tech companies. It is built to LEED Gold sustainability standards and includes a state-of-the-art MakerLAB and a new collaborative workspace called The Bridge at Cornell Tech.
Cornell Tech develops the leaders and technologies of tomorrow through foundational and applied research, postgraduate education, and new ventures. Through rigorous, practical research and interdisciplinary innovation, it advances lasting economic and social prosperity for New York City and the world.
