The Scholastic Building has an historic cast iron façade that has been exactingly restored to its original state. The canopy was replaced with a new structure matching the historic profiles and the metal canopy has been replaced with a new translucent resin cover that allows more daylight into the ground floor and brightens the façade. The interior space has also been restored and readied for a new tenant, with a lowered floor slab that permits an on-grade entrance. Led by DXA Studio, the tour will include the atrium, cafeteria, studios, and outdoor spaces in addition to the recent work on the facade and historic canopy.
The storefront is fully accessible and viewable from the street. The interior retail space is accessible through an egress corridor.
Ticketholders requiring accommodations should email info@ohny.org by Monday, October 13.
