Immerse yourself in maritime history at America's oldest lighthouse tender. Learn about the Coast Guard's job of tending aids to navigation, one of the service's most under-appreciated duties. Hear from dedicated volunteers about the restoration work to get this 1933 steamship running again. View an exhibit on the Erie Canal as that waterway celebrates 200 years of transportation history.

Family Programming: Kids can turn the ship's wheel, do battle with foam swords, and put crayons to use on maritime-themed coloring sheets.

Flat, closed-toe shoes are required. Access between decks requires the use of ladders. Guests should watch for multiple trip hazards, including raised sills in doorways, and must follow all safety instructions from crew.

No pets permitted. Service animals are allowed but require an extra safety briefing to keep dogs safe.

Strollers can be brought on board but children cannot ride in the stroller while boarding or while on the ship.

Children are welcome, accompanied by an adult.

Family Friendly: Bring the kids! More than a dozen OHNY Weekend partners are offering special activities for families. Most activities are free and open to the public. Explore more.

Water Works: Discover how water shapes the city, from the system of pipes that delivers 1 billion gallons of clean water into (and out of) homes daily, to the working waterfront that drove the city's economy for centuries, to the challenges of adapting 520 miles of shoreline for a wetter future. Explore more.
