The nonprofit Print Center New York champions printmaking as an art form that drives invention, collaboration, and access, and plays a vital role in society. Through exhibitions, public programs, education, and artistic development, Print Center New York is a hub of exploration and inquiry for all those engaged with and new to prints.
Saturday Tour: 2-3pm
Join Print Center New York's Chief Curator Jenn Bratovich and Associate Curator Alex Santana for an informal walkthrough of the exhibition "Data Consciousness: Reframing Blackness in Contemporary Print," curated by Tiffany E. Barber. This interactive tour will draw out the major thematic threads of the exhibition. Who was W.E.B. Du Bois, and why does he matter now? What is data consciousness, and how is it cultivated? Can art grapple with the role of technology and identity in our lives? Dive into these questions and more by exploring how the works in the exhibition animate these ideas through an hour-long tour, followed by a coffee hour at 3pm.
Large Type Labels for exhibition visitors available at the front desk. ASL interpretation available upon request with two weeks' notice. Visitors with accommodation requests may contact contact@printcenternewyork.org.
