In addition to the many design elements for enhanced travel experience, Grand Central Madison features contemporary artwork by world class artists Yayoi Kusama and Kiki Smith, rotating digital art and photography exhibitions, Poetry and live music performances. The spectacular art by celebrated contemporary artists have become permanent fixtures and a destination in the elegant new Grand Central Madison, a cultural corridor to Long Island.
The tour will begin at the 43rd Street passage, and conclude at the 48th Street passage as the group tours both the upper concourse and lower mezzanine levels, totaling approximately 10 blocks within the terminal. OHNYWeekend participants will learn about Arts & Design’s commissioning process and stories behind each site-specific artwork created for the diverse communities and riders in the MTA system.
