Imagine an acre of vegetables, herbs, flowers, and wild meadows. Picture honey bees buzzing between native pollinators, and groups of young students planting tomatoes, learning how to thresh and winnow wheat, cooking up stews, dying fabrics, and making their own crayons. Now imagine this place in the midst of the urban fabric of Long Island City, Queens.

This is Sky Farm LIC, a one-acre rooftop educational farm run by the Variety Boys and Girls Club of Queens. Visit the farm to see this vision come true! Take a tour with staff farmers/educators, taste late season produce, and join in on some of the students' favorite farm-centered arts and crafts activities. Learn how the Sky Farm is bringing farm education and a free, green third space to the community in Queens.

Friday, Saturday, & Sunday Tours: Farmers and educators will be on site to give guided farm tours every hour on the hour on a first-come, first-served basis. Tours are one hour each.

Sky Farm LIC can be accessed by either stairway or elevator. There is uneven terrain and gravel paths, as well as several narrow entry ways during the farm tour.

Closed-toe shoes are required. Visitors will be outdoors and should dress appropriately for the weather. Layers, gloves, a hat, water bottle, and a rain coat are recommended if the forecast includes a chance of rain.

There is no place on-site to store large bags. Please bring only personal items you can carry with you.

Children ages 7+ are welcome accompanied by an adult.
