Delson + Morgan Preview
Amie Gross Architects and Transitional Services for New York
Jamaica, Queens
Sat, October 18th, 2025
3:00pm — 4:00pm
The Delson, located in Jamaica, Queens, opened in 2018 and provides housing to those who need psychiatric support and to community members with low incomes. Its sister building, The Morgan, which started construction in September 2025, will have a similar population mix. The buildings' architecture broadcasts the TSINY presence to the neighborhood through the use of handmade tiles in rich jewel and warm tones and visual art visible from the street, as well as some of the tallest murals in NYC. The Morgan, in varied hues of blue, will speak to the color balance of the Delson.
AGA, TSINY, and artists whose work is on display will lead visitors through The Delson, the first affordable housing building to receive funding from the National Endowment for the Arts for visual art. The top floor Skyroom, an apartment, and the garden where therapeutic gardening takes place will be available on the tour. Visitors will see The Morgan and its foundation under construction, as well. The tour includes a discussion with the Architects and TSINY about the opportunities posed by creating buildings that enhance both the urban design and services provided to the neighborhood; and how The Delson, The Morgan, and the entire TSINY portfolio create a branding presence that highlights how not for profits enrich a community.
Tours will be led by Amie Gross, President of Amie Gross Architects; Alex La Ferla, Principal of Amie Gross Architects; and Larry Grubler, Chief Executive Officer of Transitional Services for New York (TSINY).
Spanish language translation available on request during the tours.
Please be respectful of residents - The Delson is their home. Do not take photos of people where faces are shown.
