Sure We Can is a nonprofit redemption center founded by canners, people who collect and redeem the cans and bottles that others discard to earn a living, five cents at a time. The facility, a vibrant 16,000-sq. ft. lot in Bushwick where more than a million cans and bottles are redeemed each month, offers a glimpse into the role canners play in the circular economy. Learn about Sure We Can's unique community-sensitive model, programming, and organizing activities, such as their advocacy efforts to expand the New York State bottle bill.
