2025 OHNY Weekend

On October 17-19, 2025, the 23rd annual Open House New York Weekend offered behind-the-scenes access and open doors with the largest festival lineup ever. A true citywide festival, more than half of the locations were outside Manhattan, and participants hailed from 89% of the city’s zip codes.

From the festival’s first event, listening to water mains with DEP’s leak detection team in the early hours of Friday, to its last, stargazing with the Amateur Astronomers Association on Sunday night, OHNY Weekend delivered 1,175 hours of free programming and engaged nearly 50,000 participants.

OHNY collaborated with 311 cultural, civic, and commercial partners and offered 145 brand-new experiences during the festival. See the complete list of partners here.

OHNY Weekend is made possible through the support of our volunteer community. Over 1,000 volunteers helped welcome and direct guests in 2025 and collectively contributed more than 4,512 hours of service during the festival—equivalent to nearly 188 full days. Open House New Yorkers sound off:
“What do you love about OHNY Weekend?”

Letting people know that they can actually visit these cool NYC sites for free and seeing their faces light up in excitement.

Each year I build a complex scheduling spreadsheet to maximize the number of OHNY Weekend sites I can visit. Don’t you?

My favorite OHNY Weekend memory is signing my name on 1 WTC—being a permanent part of this iconic building!

I want to sneak into every building.

OHNY Weekend is the ultimate opportunity to learn and experience what you mistakenly thought you already knew about NYC.

New York is not monolithic! It’s open and complex!

I discovered Bronx Community College through OHNY Weekend. I love Marcel Breuer and was fascinated by the campus. I was literally high on architecture that day.

It’s like Christmas (for us agnostic, non-religious urbanist nerds)! It is the most wonderful time of the year.
